Treating Elbow Pain
Chiropractic adjustments and complementary treatments are safe and effective methods to relieve elbow pain. Some additional treatments we use include physical therapy, laser therapy, acupuncture, and massage therapy.
It’s easy to think of chiropractic care as just a treatment for your spine, but it can also help ease elbow pain so you can get back to doing the things you love.
Our treatments can help to break up scar tissue, restore mobility to stiff joints, reduce inflammation, and restore overall balance to your body.
Treatments like laser therapy may also help stimulate cellular growth and repair.
These treatments for elbow pain address the underlying cause of your pain and discomfort to give you a better chance at long-term pain relief.
You can choose to cover up the pain with medication, but that will only yield temporary results. And having surgery on your elbow is an invasive procedure that requires a painful recovery period.
Two specific conditions we treat include golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow. These are common sources of elbow pain; you don’t have to be a golfer or tennis player to get either condition. The medical term for golfer’s elbow is medial epicondylitis and it is caused by damage to the tendons and muscles that control your fingers and wrist. The pain is usually felt on the inside of the elbow.
Tennis elbow is felt on the outside of the elbow. It is usually caused by overusing your forearm during repetitive activity.
Wrist Pain Causes and Treatments
A range of different issues may cause wrist pain since you use your hands and wrist so often.
Whether it’s a repetitive strain kind of injury at work, a sports injury, or an injury caused by a slip and fall, laser therapy, massage therapy, physical therapy, and acupuncture can help reduce inflammation, improve blood flow and provide you with long-lasting pain relief.
Many wrist injuries are caused by sprains and strains, fractures, and similar types of trauma. Perhaps the most common cause of wrist pain we treat is carpal tunnel syndrome.
This condition is caused by pressure on the median nerve that affects the carpal tunnel. This is a narrow passageway on the palm side of your hand in the wrist area. If the median nerve is compressed, you may experience numbness. You might even experience tingling, pain, and general weakness in your hand and arm. Much of the time, carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by repetitive movements in the workplace.
